Clarke Cooke House
Our favorite year round spot in Newport for light bites and big appetites alike. Cozy up to the fire in the Cooke House's bistro on a cool evening, star gaze from the top bar on a clear night while sipping something yummy, or sit at the incredible sushi bar with a hot sake on the ground floor listening to the boats in the harbor. Don't miss the pan fried deboned chicken with mashed potatoes or any of their delicious fresh and local seafood options.
Our favorite spot for a Mexican brunch and the spiciest bloody Mary's in town. For those of you with a taste for the hot, be sure to try Diego's own Holy Habanero Bloody and their innovative take on Mexican eggs benedict with chourizo and roasted jalapeno hollandaise.
the spiced pear at the chanler
For a dining experience that is in perfect harmony with the local Newport lifestyle, the Spiced Pear's thoughtful cuisine offers an inventive interpretation of classic New England dishes and French influences. Known for it's signature "New England Tasting Menu" and sweeping ocean views, the Spiced Pear is more than just a restaurant.
Enjoy this world famous public access walk that combines the natural beauty of the Newport shoreline with the architectural history of Newport's gilded age. Wildflowers, birds, geology, all add to this delightful walk.
Sunset Cruises from Newport Harbor
Enjoy any number of cruises offered out of our harbor on any given day or evening. Choose from antique sailing boats that give you a tour of the harbor and adjoining Jamestown coast at sunset while snacking on a picnic dinner to more modern boats featuring live music and a plethora of libations.
Norman Bird Sanctuary
With 300 acres and seven miles of hiking trails there is plenty to see at all times of the year. You will be sure to see a variety of local and migratory birds depending on the season. Take one of their many trails out to Hanging Rock and enjoy views of both Second and Third beach as well as the surrounding salt water marshes. This is a view to remember.
